Luxury carmakers unveil latest models – and leathergoods – in Paris

Luxury car companies have unveiled their latest offerings at the Paris Motor Show, the biggest of its kind, including a new Lamborghini, the Asterion, and the Mercedes GT AMG GT Edition 1.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presented a new bespoke offering, the Phantom Metropolitan Collection – only 20 of which will be available to commission. “Central to the allure of its unique promise is an interior furnished in the very finest materials; expertly hand-applied by the master craftspeople at the home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood," it said.

A specially developed Aetherius Grey leather colour was created to “echo the colour palette of the modern city”.

Bentley unveiled a new flagship model, Mulsanne Speed, which it says is the fastest ultra-luxury driving experience in the world.

CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer said: “We listen carefully to the needs and preferences of our customers.  We are the choice of many high achievers, independent thinkers, world leaders and royal families around the world.”

A different kind of luxury good, Jaguar launched the Heritage '57 Collection celebrating 60 years of the iconic Jaguar D-Type, including a jacket and holdall made with Pittards leather.

Ian Callum, director of design at Jaguar, said: "Occasionally it's great fun to celebrate the past, especially something as momentous as a winning Ecurie Ecosse D-Type. The collection is distinguished by the blue flag and draws on signature cues from the winning No.3 car."
