Brazilian tanneries court South Korean leather buyers
Organisers of the Brazilian Leather Showroom in Seoul, South Korea, have described the event as “a remarkable success” after attracting buyers, designers and media to network with five Brazilian tanneries.

Taking place between April 3 and 5 and jointly organised by leather association CICB and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), Courovale, Fuga Couros, JBS Couros, Nova Kaeru and Romeu Couros met 50 buyers from the footwear, manufacturing and automotive industries at Seoul Partners House.

Elton Haubert, exports manager at Courovale, said: “I believe we are on our way to open a strong market in South Korea, and received a number of orders for samples during the event.”

CICB and Hongik University also presented awards to students who designed handbags made of leather from Brazil. The winner, So Ha Park, will travel to the country to visit Inspiramais – Components Design and Innovation Exhibition in São Paulo in July.
