Brazilian tanners confident for APLF

Brazilian tanners appearing at the 30th edition of the Asia Pacific Leather Fair, which takes place in Hong Kong from March 31 to April 2, are confident that they can build on the momentum of previous years, particularly as Brazil is this year’s ‘country focus’.

Verônica Meurer, from BCM Industria e Comercio de Couros, said: “We will have the opportunity to expand our visibility to visitors and other exhibitors, and be able to show all the technology, innovation and creativity we put into our products.”

Marcelo Lamas, managing director of Porto Alegre-based consultancy America Leather, praised the role of the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in promoting the industry. “The demand for Brazilian leather has increased greatly, and CICB’s work in that direction has been extremely important,” he said.

A Brazilian contingent held a series of talks and seminars on the first day of the show.
