Brazilians to take centre stage at APLF
Representatives of the Brazil leather industry will hold a series of talks at the upcoming APLF leather show in Hong Hong, as the country has been selected as the ‘focus country’ at the event.

Six seminars will be held on March 31 between 11am and 6pm, and will include analysis of Brazilian leather in terms of restricted substances and Brazilian leather as a design material.

Rogério de Souza Di Domenico Cunha from Trade Intelligence at the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) will join Maurício Medeiros of Design na Pele and Lucas Zoldan from the Analytical Centre of Laboratories of the Leather Technological Centre, SENAI, among the panellists.

Rafael Mariño, export manager at Coming – Tannery of the Year for the Americas in the second programme of the competition in 2011– will outline economic and environmental good practices and address issues of sustainability.

Fernando Bellese, marketing and sustainability manager at JBS Couros, will discuss responsible sourcing, eco-efficiency, transparency and stakeholder engagement.
