Optimistic mood at Brazilian leather show

Brazilian leather show Inspiramais Summer 2017, held in São Paulo, has been hailed a success by attendees.

Julius Pepper, of the Couroquímica tannery, said the show was busier than expected. "The economic scenario of the country left no room for high expectations, but the event surprised us. We served nearly 100 buyers.”

AplicColour launched three leathers at the event: pleated, geometric patterned and snakeskin. Skin Art showed leathers with phosphorescent pigments, which glow in the dark.

One tannery director suggested the show marked the beginning of the mood lifting in the sector, which faced challenges such as a slowing economy in 2015.
