Tuscan tanners met with regional government representatives to address “critical issues in the market”.

Representatives from national association UNIC, Tuscany’s Associazione Conciatori, Consorzio Conciatori di Ponte a Egola and Tuscan Confindustria were among those at a recent meeting with Tuscany's Economic and Rural Development Commission.

A Working Group will be assembled to research how tools such as renegotiation of existing loans and access to credit might help address “the current economic complexity”.

Tanners’ association Associazione Conciatori said: “We hope the interest shown will translate into concrete tools to support the entire Tuscan fashion supply chain, one of the most significant industries in terms of production and jobs in the tanning industry.”

A formal document will now be submitted to the Regional Council of Tuscany.
