Atlas Refinery and Leather Kem unveil wet white tanning system
At Tanning Tech 2023 in Milan, Italy, Atlas Refinery, Inc. unveiled a revolutionary new wet white tannage system developed by Leather Kem.
The unique bio system is polymer-based and eco-friendly with low levels of bisphenol and formaldehyde. It will only be available through Atlas's global distribution network. Leather Kem, located in the Tuscany Tanning Area of Italy, has decades of experience in high-performance chemicals and sustainable technology.
In addition, Atlas announced Teknoleather as the exclusive agent for the Veneto Area in Italy. According to Atlas CEO Steven B. Schroeder Jr., Teknoleather has extensive experience in leather production and will provide top-notch technical and customer service to Atlas's valued customers. Schroeder also praised the partnership between Atlas, Leather Kem, and Teknoleather, stating that it combines Atlas's 136 years of fatliquor expertise with Italy's most advanced biotechnologies to offer cutting-edge solutions to tannery customers.
