Great expectations as Brazilian tanneries ready for ACLE

Thirteen Brazilian leather companies are preparing for their trip to China, ready to exhibit at the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE), in Shanghai - the first big event there since 2019.

As well as being “one of the most important events in the leather industry in recent years”, the 2023 ACLE brings additional expectations due to the size of the market it represents. China and Hong Kong accounted for almost 30% of leather exports from Brazil last year.

Letícia Luft, manager of the Brazilian Leather project, said: “Travel restrictions to China have been severe during the pandemic, and now the country is opened up and accessible to foreigners. So, there are companies that have not seen their customers in person since 2019. We have many opportunities to bring contacts and relationships closer together at ACLE 2023.”

Tanneries with individual booths are Coming, Cortume Krumenauer, Couros Bom Retiro, Fuga Couros, Durli Couros, Euro-América, Gobba Leather, Hason International, Hop Ying Leatherex, JBS Couros, Liderkoll and Minerva Leather.

The fair will take place between 29 and 31 August.
