After completing leather craft courses in Swakopmund, Namibia, a young entrepreneur has set up a leathergoods training scheme.

Rakkel Mwandi will teach leather production, designing, cutting and marketing, to help upskill local people.

She told news outlet New Era: "When I started as a young entrepreneur, I faced difficulties securing start-up capital as well as investments and loans. However difficult it was, I was determined to make my venture a success.”

She said she saw an opportunity to set up a local foundation, and will take two students from a correctional facility per course.
