UK leather workers encouraged to apply for funding

Industry association Leather UK is encouraging leather workers to apply for funding from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) awards, a charity dedicated to excellence in British craftsmanship.

QEST awards funding of up to £18,000 to craftspeople in a broad range of sectors, to help them pay for college courses, vocational training, apprenticeships or one-to-one training.

The charity celebrated its 30th anniversary this year and since 1990 has awarded nearly £5 million to 600 individuals working in 130 crafts.

Applications are open from 11 January until 15 February 2021.
