Bernard Arnault and Donald Trump to visit new Texas Louis Vuitton factory
On Thursday, 17 October, Donald Trump and LVMH president and CEO Bernard Arnault will celebrate the opening of a new Louis Vuitton manufacturing workshop in the southern US. According to the White House, there will be a ribbon cutting, talk about job creation and a tour the new workshop, which is located on a ranch about 30 miles south of Fort Worth, Texas.
Mr Trump and Mr Arnault will be joined by US cabinet members and Louis Vuitton executives.
As reported by the Dallas Morning News, two years ago, county commissioners approved a tax break package totaling about $91,000 a year for 10 years, which helped secure Texas as the French luxury brand's newest location.
The workshop is set on the 256-acre Louis Vuitton Rochambeau Ranch, which is said to be a world-class manufacturing facility that will blend Louis Vuitton’s traditional craftsmanship with the skills of local artisans. Today the facility employs about 150 workers.
