An abundance of leather in the latest incarnation of the Ford Expedition has made a real impression on motor trend watchers. The 2020 King Ranch Edition of the iconic SUV has a range of high-end finishes and improvements, but it’s the generous use of leather — not only on the seats but on the dashboard, steering wheel and door panels, that’s headlining coverage of the new release. 

Leather-lined royalty: Ford Expedition King Ranch returns reads Sean Szymkowski’s headline on cnet.com, where he describes the SUV as “full of more Southwestern-inspired opulence than ever.” Mr Szymkowski reports that Expedition sales grew 56% in 2019, noting that “Americans, clearly, still can't get enough of their big SUVs.”

Leather “wraps the instrument panel, steering wheel, front door trim, console rails and front and rear door armrests and front- and second-row seats,” writes Sven Gustafson in AutoBlog.com.  “The leatherrific King Ranch trim,” he adds, is inspired by a famous Texas ranch of the same name.
