Top students honoured at New Zealand's leather awards

A highlight of the 2019 New Zealand Leather and Shoe Research Association (LASRA) annual conference, held at the Napier Conference Centre, was the presentation of awards to the top-performing students for 2018. 

The Lanxess Award for the top student in the advanced course year 1, and a cheque for NZ$500, went to Renata Torres from Lowe Corporation.

Brandon Atkins from Progressive Leathers scooped the Azelis Award for fellmongery and NZ$1,000.

The Shamrock Award for top student of the introductory course, and NZ$1,000, was won by Damian Klavs from Tasman Tanning, while Edwin Wiremu from New Zealand Light Leathers was the runner-up in this category, with a cheque for NZ$500 and the Interchem Award.
