Mongolia: Antipodeans conduct sheep shearing masterclass
Funded by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), sheep shearers from Australia and New Zealand travelled to Mongolia to teach local farmers how to improve wool quality.

The workshop included automatic shearing and sorting/baling techniques, improving efficiency and creating opportunities in the supply chain.

The techniques enabled farmers from Khovd province to halve the time it took to sheer a sheep.

Mongolia has more than 30 million sheep but only 40% to 60% of wool meets the standards of the processing industry.
