MVO names first Sustainable Leather Award winner

Dutch corporate social responsibility organisation MVO Nederland has named accessories brand O My Bag as the first winner of its Sustainable Leather Award.

Alongside O My Bag - which sources its leather from, and manufactures in, India’s Koltata - bag brand MYUZE and chemicals maker Stahl were shortlisted.

The companies were nominated for initiatives that had “a positive effect on humans, animals and the environment in developing countries”.

O My Bag will receive € 5,000 and free membership of the learning network of CSR Netherlands.

Stahl received its nomination for the work it has done helping tanneries in Mongolia, which we looked at in World Leather Feb/March 2015 (and which can be downloaded as a pdf from the Technical Library).
