Tasman Tanning buys deer leather specialist

The purchase gives Tasman Tanning, said to be the country’s largest producer of finished leather, access to South Island wet blue hides, said Tasman Tanning chairman Hunter Tait. He expects this to support growth in finished leather production at the Whanganui site.
Former NSLL managing director David Cassidy is now CEO of Tasman Tanning South Island. Employees of NZLL have also transferred to the new company.
