People living in Siberia and other parts of Russia’s Far East are increasing their access to one of the country’s principal players in e-commerce, Ozon, thanks to footwear manufacturer and retailer Obuv Rossii.

Towards the end of 2018, Obuv Rossii began using some of its Westfalika shoe stores as e-commerce pick-up points for Ozon customers. Early success of this idea has led to a new agreement between the two companies to increase the number of pick-up points in Siberia and the Far East to nearly 130 by the end of August.

Online shoppers in small towns and cities in remote parts of Russia will now be able to order shoes, clothes, electrical items and other products from Ozon and use Obuv Rossii’s shops to pick items up and also to return items they choose not to keep.

One of the reasons why Obuv Rossii is enthusiastic about the idea is that, in almost 5% of cases when customers come into its shops to collect or return items to Ozon, they buy some of its shoes.
