Renault maintains market share despite sales dip

22/07/2019
French automotive group Renault sold more than 1.9 million vehicles in the first half of 2019, a decrease of 6.7% compared to the same period of last year.

This came in a market that the company said was in “sharp decline”; it put global deliveries at 7.1% down compared to the first six months of 2018. This helped Renault maintain a market share of 4.4%.

Sales in Europe, including its home market, were flat. The biggest decline came in China, where vehicle deliveries fell nearly 24% year-on-year. There was also a 3.9% decline in the number of deliveries to the Americas.
