Renault to recruit local design talent for new centre in Shanghai

Automotive group Renault opened a new design centre in Shanghai on April 15 to add to the facilities it already has in France, Romania, South Korea, Brazil and India.

It said the newest of these design centres would “imagine and design future models”, directly addressing the expectations of Chinese customers. Renault has said it will recruit around 20 local designers to work there.

They will cover all automotive design sectors, including exterior and interior design, colours and materials. “The new design centre in Shanghai will support Groupe Renault’s expansion strategy in China,” Renault said. “The world’s number-one car market since 2009 and Groupe Renault’s fourth-largest market in 2018, China is one of the key pillars of the ‘Drive the Future’ strategic plan.”
