Welsh leathergoods company receives royal visit
10/07/2019
Hayley Hanson runs a 100-acre Welsh farm, sourcing hides from her own cattle.
The leathergoods business was established in 2011 and sells bags, purses, rugs and other accessories. Hides are salted on the farm and sent away to be processed, then made into leathergoods either at the workshop or through various partners.
Ms Hanson said: “It was a great honour to have His Royal Highness come here, we are just a little Welsh farm, trying to make a living, the ethos of the business has always been better, rather than bigger.
“We hope we can highlight the superiority of not only our own leather but UK leather as whole, and how good high animal welfare and abattoir standards are. A ‘good’ death is as important as a good life, and we need to showcase this amazing, natural byproduct for what it is.”
