PrimeAsia will boost tanning capacity following surge in demand

Tannery group PrimeAsia has said it will be adding extra tanning capacity from March 2018 to help it deal with a surge in demand that led to backlogs and long lead times.

CEO Jon Clark said demand at its Asian tanneries was "over and above" its forecasts and outpaced capacity in 2017.

PrimeAsia Vietnam's newly constructed wet blue warehouse will allow for the storage of three months of inventory in a well-ventilated covered environment.  

The company is also constructing a 5,000 m2 solar hot water system with Danish company Arcon-Sunmark at its Vietnamese plant.  

It is also constructing tanks and systems that will double the capacity of the onsite wastewater treatment facility.
