A senior figure in the UK leather industry has died.

Eric Jackson ran the Goodman & Son tannery in Kettering alongside his brother, supplying leather worldwide, until the early 1990s.

Mr Jackson was well known in the industry, and was a long-time supporter of the Leather & Hide Trades’ Benevolent Institution, a UK-based charitable organisation that helps former employees of the sector and their dependents who are in financial need.

His funeral will be held on December 18, at 1pm at St Peter and St Paul Church, Kettering, and afterwards at Kelmarsh Hall, Northampton.
