UK Leather Federation asks for help to refine goals

28/11/2017
The UK Leather Federation is asking members of the leather, footwear and leathergoods industries in the UK for feedback to help it better represent the industry.

Earlier this year, it published a five-year strategy to tackle the issues and challenges facing the British leather industry and it now wishes to refine this further.

Part of the strategy includes developing a British leather label, as well as driving employment and boosting trade.

In 2014, UK exports of raw materials, leather, leathergoods and leather footwear totalled £1.4 billion, compared with £1.3 billion in 2013.

The sector employs 8,400 workers, including 1,300 in leather manufacture.

Participants should visit UKLF’s site to fill out the survey by 15 December 2017.
