Nissan’s Brazilian plant celebrates export milestone
Automotive group Nissan Motor Corporation has announced that its manufacturing facility in Resende in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro recently produced its 20,000th vehicle for export.

The plant began exporting vehicles in March 2016. It delivers Nissan’s March and Versa models to eight Latin American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Argentina is the destination for 44% of these exports.

In April, Nissan reported that the plant in Resende had produced 10,000 vehicles for export. In July, it launched a second production shift at the facility, hiring 600 new employees.

The group has said preparations are now underway for the next stage of the project, which will involve exporting the Nissan Kicks. Production of this model began in April 2017.
