Special economic zone in Bulawayo wants leather-sector investment

Bulawayo city council has set aside land for a special economic zone, with leather one of the industries the authorities in Zimbabwe’s second city hope to attract.

They have earmarked leather as one of the activities they hope will predominate in the special economic zone because the area has an extensive livestock population.

The authorities have said they will make special economic provisions for companies that set up production in the area and an 11-person board is now working on attracting investment.
