Leathergoods continue to drive revenue growth at LVMH

28/07/2017
Luxury group LVMH has reported revenue of €19.7 billion in the first half of 2017, a 12% increase on the same period of last year at constant exchange rates.

The group’s fashion and leathergoods division continued to lead the way, bringing in revenue of €6.9 billion. This represents a 14% improvement compared to the first six months of 2016 and means this division was LVMH’s fastest growing.

LVMH said the first half of the year saw “outstanding momentum” at Louis Vuitton. This was across all product categories. There was also good growth at Céline, Loewe and Kenzo.

The revenue of German luggage and leathergoods manufacturer Rimowa, which LVMH acquired in October 2016, was included in LVMH’s consolidated results for the first time. LVMH gave no indication of Rimowa’s performance during the first half of 2017.
