French luxury leathergoods brand Céline is to open a second production facility in Italy. The factory will be located in the Radda municipality of Tuscany.

The LVMH-owned brand already operates a manufacturing plant in the Chianti region, also in Tuscany.

It will invest €20 million euros in the new facility, which will create around 340 jobs. A temporary site has already started production. There are currently around 30 employees working there following the completion of six-week training course.

Céline chairman, Séverine Merle, said the brand chose Tuscany for its new facility due to its “know-how and high levels of craftsmanship”.

As part of the project, Céline has signed a five-year agreement with the local Tuscan government to develop training and research related to industry 4.0 in the region.
