Brazilian tanneries heading to Shoes & Leather Exhibition – Vietnam in mid-July are expecting to make a collective $20 million in sales.

Brazil exports 8% of its hides and skins to Vietnam, its fourth largest market.

A.P. Müller is one of eight businesses heading to the Vietnamese capital. Its director, Cézar Müller, said: "The Vietnam trade show has been a welcome surprise as it has been growing and, above all, advancing qualitatively."

Vietnam is home to more than 600 footwear factories, and produces 1 billion pairs of shoes and 150 million bags a year, 40% of which are made of leather, according to Brazilian tannery association CICB.

Fair organisers expect 15,000 visitors between July 12 and 14.
