Vietnam’s shoe industry drives leather sector growth

Vietnam earned $8.7 billion from leather and footwear sector exports for the first half of the year, according to industry association Lefaso.

This was 11% higher than in the same period last year, with footwear making up the majority, worth $7 billion. 

Around 35% of footwear exports head for the US market.

Lefaso estimates total exports for the year will be worth $17.8 billion, 10% more than last year.
