Beef shipments from Brazil to China up by 50%

Brazil exported a cumulative total of 465,000 tonnes of beef in the first four months of this year, bringing in just over $1.75 billion in revenues.

Compared to the same period in 2015, export volumes increased by 12.5%, although the values were the same.

Exports to China, either directly or through Hong Kong, were up by more than 50% and accounted for 34.5% of all exports. However, there were sharp declines in shipments to Russia and Venezuela.
