Ethiopian delegation turns to Tuscany for tanning know-how

Representatives of Italy’s Tuscan tanning district welcomed a delegation from Ethiopia as part of a United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO)-coordinated project to improve the African country’s leather sector.

The major of Ethiopian city Modjo, Mohammed Kemal Bedaso, met the director of the local tanning association, Piero Maccanti, as well as UNIDO representatives Aurelia Calabro and Netseha Sequar.

The Tuscan tanning district is considered the model for developing the guidelines for Modjo’s leather district.
