Smit & Zoon boosts India presence with new leather lab
Chemicals company Smit & Zoon has announced its first leather application laboratory outside of the Netherlands will be opened in Ranipet, India, and it is expected to open in the second quarter of the year.

Smit & Zoon CEO Hans van Haarst travelled to India to sign the contract with Mohamed Jan at Shaheen Leathers, which will be involved in the project alongside Kem Finishes, the Dutch company’s agent for South India.

Jan Koopmans, sales manager at Smit & Soon, said: “We are very pleased to have found such an experienced partner in Shaheen Leathers and we are is looking forward to a fruitful collaboration. We consider this step as a further investment towards a strong Indian base.”
