Zimbabwean tannery under threat

Reports from Zimbabwe say the country’s High Court has placed one of its biggest tanneries into provisional liquidation.

It has reportedly given creditors and shareholders of Bulawayo-based tannery Wet Blue Industries time to produce a plan to save the business.

The tannery was affiliated with the Cold Storage Company abattoir, which was badly affected by Foot and Mouth disease and a resulting loss of export markets, and is reportedly still millions of dollars in debt.
