Ambitious plans for Italian leathergoods brand

The CEO of leathergoods brand Furla says he plans to double sales in the next five years by focusing on the US and Asia and concentrating on dominating the mid-level luxury sector.

Eraldo Poletto said his aim is to grow the Italian brand to €500 million in revenues from the €228 million in 2013 by adding 40 mono-brand shops to the current 367 by mid-2015, mainly in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

"Affordable luxury is where growth is going to be. We need to fill that space before others do," he told Reuters.
