Italy-based leather manufacturer Furla is to set up its first boutique at the Palladium Mall in Mumbai this autumn.

Its new Papermoon leather bag range will be on sale at the new store, alongside its more established Candy range, which incorporates vibrant shades and metallic finishes.

Having recently opened own-brand stores in Paris, Hong Kong, London, Beijing and Munich, the company is focusing on the Asian market as its primary growth strategy.

Established in 1927 by the Furlanetto family in Bologna, the company operates five subsidiaries in the US, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and France.

It has a distribution network in 63 countries, with more than 1,000 sales outlets and 319 single brand boutiques.
