Longchamp unaffected by China’s luxury slowdown
Luxury leathergoods brand Longchamp is to double its presence in China and says the country, alongside Hong Kong and Taiwan, is now its number two market behind France.
"We are far from having fully tapped China," said its CEO, Jean Cassegrain. "The brand is starting to be increasingly appreciated by the Chinese, both at home and abroad."
He said Longchamp had not been affected by China's crackdown on exchanging gifts because this usually involved spirits and watches.
The brand has 60% of its turnover in Europe and reported sales of EUR 462 million last year.
