Responsible deer management needed, says Billy Tannery

UK-based microtanner Billy Tannery is organising an evening celebrating the versatility of deer, at Fortnum & Mason in London on September 16.
“While deer are a treasured part of the UK's landscapes, their populations have grown significantly in some areas, which can damage woodlands and wildlife habitats,” said organisers. “Responsible deer management is therefore an important conservation tool. But what happens to the deer afterwards is just as important.”
The evening will include a panel discussion, a showcase of wild deer leathergoods and an interactive leatherworking demonstration.
