Reclaimed Maserati leather given new life
Maserati and Poltrona Frau In Motion have unveiled a limited-edition collection of 100 handcrafted travel bags made from reclaimed leather originally used for Maserati vehicle interiors.
The Maserati Weekend Bag was presented at the 1000 Miglia 2026 as part of celebrations marking 100 years of Maserati’s Trident emblem. Each bag is handcrafted in Italy by Poltrona Frau In Motion using Cuoio leather recovered through Stellantis’ SUSTAINera circular economy initiative.
The project repurposes leather originally selected for Maserati seats, giving the material a second life while retaining its original characteristics. The leather is sourced from tanneries certified to the Gold standard of the Leather Working Group (LWG).
Designed as a contemporary interpretation of a classic travel bag, the collection features a structured silhouette, burnished metal details, a canvas shoulder strap and Maserati branding, including an embossed Trident logo and centenary emblem. Each bag carries an individual number reflecting its limited-edition status.
The collaboration brings together Maserati’s automotive heritage and Poltrona Frau In Motion’s expertise in luxury interiors for vehicles, aircraft and boats. The companies said the initiative demonstrates how craftsmanship, design and circular economy principles can combine to extend the value of existing materials.
The Maserati Weekend Bag will be available exclusively to registered users of the Maserati Tridente app, with deliveries scheduled to begin in October 2026.
