Luxury brand Loro Piana has unveiled the Ghiera, a leather bag inspired by the company’s textile heritage, and is celebrating by transforming a pop-up store in Milan into a leather artisan’s workshop.

The space showcases the close links between leather craftsmanship and the brand with a presentation of specialised tools and leather swatches.

Handcrafted in Italy, the shape of the Ghiera is reminiscent of the rings of a spinning machine, a key element in the processing of fibres. 

The leather is so gentle to the touch that it recalls the finest cashmere, the key fabric of Loro Piana, said the company.
