‘Outstanding’ leathergoods performance boosts H1 results for LVMH
Luxury group LVMH has reported first-half revenues of €42.2 billion, an increase of 15% year on year. The group said all of its business groups achieved double-digit growth, with the exception of its wines and spirits business.
It described the performance of its leathergoods and fashion group as outstanding. In particular, it highlighted the contribution that Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Celine, Loro Piana and Loewe had made, but said all brands in the business unit had gained market share worldwide.
Chief executive, Bernard Arnault, said LVMH had achieved outstanding results during a six-month period of ongoing economic and geopolitical uncertainty.
He was particularly enthusiastic about the reception Pharrell Williams’ first fashion show for Louis Vuitton had received.
He said: “Thanks to the desirability of our brands, we approach the second half of the year with confidence and optimism.”
