Carmaker BMW has reported a record 2023, with  more than 200,000 vehicles delivered for the first time.

Sales were 14% higher than in 2022, with 202,530 cars sold.

The US was again the most important market, with Germany second and the UK third.

Sylvia Neubauer, vice-president of customer, brand and sales at BMW, said: "With the historic record of more than 200,000 vehicles delivered, we have reached a milestone in the 2023 financial year.

"The impressive demand is a great confirmation that we are hitting the nerve of the times with our diverse product portfolio.”
