CICB backs sustainable calf production scheme
Brazilian leather association CICB is among supporters of the Sustainable Calf Production Program in the state of Pará, a new initiative involving 160 livestock farmers, with a forecast of reaching 600 by the end of next year. 

The programme offers technical assistance and will help farmers to trace their calves, and has backing from IDH and the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Pará (FAEPA).

Ricardo Andrade, CICB's technical and sustainability advisor, spoke at the launch event in Castanhal, sharing the leather industry’s main demands involving the livestock chain, such as monitoring and traceability.
