Parisian luxury house Hermès has marked the twentieth anniversary of its Belley leathergoods workshop in France’s Ain department by celebrating the artisans who work there.

The brand also drew attention to the “human scale” and “harmonious environment” of its facilities across the board. A beautiful space is conducive to good artisanship, Hermès said, so its factories and workshops have therefore been designed and organised in a way which fosters both proximity and “a spirit of conviviality” among employees.

Plans for two new French workshops, meaning 500 new jobs, were announced by the house earlier this year.
