All-digital Mipel running until mid-July
Leading leathergoods trade fair Mipel, usually based in Milan, is currently taking place online and will show until mid-July, offering buyers 360-degree virtual showrooms, video presentations and product photography to view at their leisure.
The virtual exhibition was organised by Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), with Assopellettieri providing promotional support.
ITA president, Carlo Ferro, said: “It is a great pleasure to return to Mipel, albeit in digital mode.
“Italian companies are the second largest exporters of leathergoods in the world in terms of volume and the first in terms of quality. The combination of our product excellence, together with digital technology and the support of the country’s government, which is now even closer to the entrepreneurial fabric, will guide us towards a new start, hopefully as soon as possible, stronger than before.”
“It was not easy to give up the physical edition of Mipel,” Mipel and Assopellettieri president, Franco Gabbrielli, added. “Our event is one of the longest lived in the trade fair sector and we are well aware that it represents the reference point for the leathergoods world at an international level.”
