Muirhead turns to Polygiene for antiviral leather
Glasgow-based specialist leather manufacturer Muirhead, part of Scottish Leather Group, recently unveiled bespoke Muirhead active hygiene leather, which the company described as “an immediate material solution to the challenges of covid-19”.
Swedish antimicrobial solutions provider Polygiene’s ViralOff technology has been built into Muirhead’s leather at the manufacturing stage, for “enhanced hygiene” and “permanent, always-on protection”, the Scottish manufacturer said.
Reportedly, the new active hygiene leather eliminates 99% of viruses and bacteria from leather seat surfaces within two hours, without the need for cleaning or otherwise sanitising the material’s surface.
Muirhead said that neither performance, appearance nor sustainability had been compromised by the treatment, which is available now on all bespoke orders.
