Seventh-generation leather manufacturer and former chairman of Scottish Leather Group, Jonathan Muirhead, has been appointed as Leathersellers’ Company Master for the upcoming year.

Mr Muirhead will be supported by Gavin Bacon as second warden, Alderman Gregory Jones as third Warden and Elizabeth Womersley as fourth warden.

The Leathersellers’ Company is one of the ancient Livery Companies of the City of London, ranked fifteenth in order of precedence. Founded in 1444 to control the sale of leather within London, the group no longer has a regulatory role; its efforts are now put toward charity, education and supporting the UK leather trade.
