It joined the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Foundation as a contributor in mid-2019 as part of the Global Chemical Industry Round Table initiative.
The ZDHC Foundation manages the Roadmap to Zero Programme with the aim of phasing out hazardous chemicals in the textile, apparel, footwear and leather value chain by promoting safer chemistry and driving innovation.
Pulcra said it is committed to continuous improvement in terms of reducing water and energy use, and a focus on renewable raw materials and improved chemical use are also part of these efforts. “Pulcra firmly believes in a successful future of leather as a highly sustainable natural material with a long tradition of craftsmanship and beauty,” it said.
