Turkish leather chemicals manufacturer Debag Kimya recently announced that it has achieved Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) conformance to level three, currently ZDHC’s highest level of certification, for all chemicals it produces in Turkey.

General manager at the company, Munir Ergun Utku, commented: “[With ZDHC] we are one step ahead of developments in chemical management and making a difference. We are pleased to join and share our competencies and best practices and learn from other partners to improve our impact.”

ZDHC’s Roadmap to Zero programme, of which Debag Kimya is now a contributor, is a collaborative effort intended to help the environment by reducing the chemical footprint of companies up and down the textile, apparel and footwear value chains.
