Cromogenia makes its mark on ZDHC

27/01/2021

Leather chemicals manufacturer Cromogenia has joined the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) programme.

On joining, the Barcelona-based company achieved the highest level of certification, level three, for its contribution towards the programme’s main aim of fostering innovation to reduce the impact on the environment of industries’ use of chemicals.

To achieve level-three certification, in addition to chemical analysis of products and analysis of documentation and good practice, companies must pass an audit that analyses their entire manufacturing process and the facilities.

The audit of Cromogenia’s leather chemicals showed that these products contained none of the substance groups listed in the most recent version of the ZDHC manufacturing restricted substances list.
