Proviera welcomes Cromogenia as newest global partner
Leather chemicals manufacturer, Cromogenia Units SA, has been announced as entering into a licensing agreement on the exclusive production of probiotic products in Brazil and Argentina.
US-based life sciences company SCD Probiotics began to present Proviera as a new spin-off division in 2014, providing biotech-based products for soaking, degreasing, wetting back, dyeing and finishing hides.
Cromogenia, with more than 75 years of experience developing and producing a wide variety of chemical specialities for industries around the world, with a focus on sustainability, will exclusively manufacture Proviera products for the Brazilian and Argentinean markets and offer probiotic products to its clients around the world.
Proviera leather biochemicals are metabolites derived from a proprietary fermentation and formulation technology, using probiotic cultures and natural raw ingredients. To use 100% natural products instead of traditional leather chemicals in the beamhouse will help tanners’ environmental performance, Proviera has argued, because nearly 70% of the wastewater of leather production processes comes from the beamhouse.
